Hi, my name is Phil Baker, I’m a freelance graphic designer based in the West Midlands. I have over 15 years experience working for creative agencies throughout the UK, most recently as Design Director at Studio EXP in Birmingham.
I design anything from brands, bakeries, and bars, to books, bottles and boxes. And everything in between. The breadth of my experience means I can take projects from initial idea to ultimate expression.
My approach
First, I do lots of digging. This is where I learn all about you, asking questions like, what you do, what makes you different, what do you want to achieve. I call these findings the roots of the project.
I then start exploring and experimenting how I can turn these roots into a compelling narrative. A story that will resonate with your audience and set you apart. What usually emerges is an idea that ties everything together, uniting who you are, what you do and what you believe in.
Finally it’s about utilising graphic design and delivering that idea with craft and meticulous attention to detail.
